Wonderful weekend

Since I quit working regular office hours in 2010, weekends weren’t ordinary weekends anymore. I have Saturday classes in grad school (takes up the whole day most of the time) and most of my Sundays are devoted to catching up on sleep and work.  It would be very rare for me to have a really fun weekend, unless I went out with my friends.  As per usual I went to my grad classes yesterday, which are very fun and need a post of their own, but today was a little more active.

My dad and I made lunch!

Chicken casserole (with yummy broccoli cheese sauce!) + garlic parmesan mashed potato! And I still ate fried rice because I am a pig.

After lunch my sister and I went to see Underworld: Awakening. I wanted to see Ralph Fiennes’ Coriolanus (lol I still giggle when I say that out loud, because apparently, I am not a mature person), but the cinema that is five minutes away from my house is not screening it.

We have seen the three other movies in theaters, so my sister was quite insistent that we see this one. She even bought the movie ticket and ice cream for me, lol. I really wasn’t expecting anything from it but yes, the fourth installment of the Underworld series is no gem of modern cinema.  I may bemoan how unfair God (or some supreme being) is for creating the perfection that is Kate Beckinsale, but her latest movie is a dud, lol.

Oh and I got this the other day. The Lorrie Moore Faber Firsts editions are so pretty. But because I do not think buying each short story collection separately is practical, I just bought this. Also, I am not appreciative of the fact that we do not get enough pretty UK versions of books like this here in the Philippines.

I received this yesterday. It’s a copy of the screenplay that I wrote for last term’s class, with the workshop professor’s comments on it. I should start revising this if I have any hope of finishing the revision. I hope I can submit the first ten pages in a week or so.

I should get a lot of writing done, but lol I get distracted with the ~artsy~ supplies I have lying around on my desk. Like these poster markers from MUJI. They were on sale a couple of days ago and I got two because I am a hoarder. I’ve always looked out for good white-inked pens and I haven’t found a single one before these. Quite pricey, but well worth it.

My mom gave me (and my sister, but I don’t want to share) this. Nutella <3
